Exumas Luxury Upon boarding in Nassau, Bahamas, the choice of itinerary is yours depending on primarily the weather and the amount of involvement you want from the crew as they guide you on your. This is a sample of previous cruises your crew has made and one they can recommend to anyone wishing to get away from the stressed out way of life that has become the norm for our busy everyday schedules. Departing Nassau, New Providence, Bahamas Your yacht charter captain will be your tour guide. Leaving New Providence via the east channel, you will have a relaxed 30 mile run across the Yellow Bank, a shallow stretch of crystal clear water, averaging 12 feet but as shallow as 3 feet, for your first sighting of the Exuma Islands, an almost unbroken chain of Cays (pronounced: “keys”) extending about 90 miles. They include over 300 islands of various sizes, most are small, picturesque, and primitive, and the people are very friendly and courteous. Local lore has it that there are 365 Cays in the Exumas, with some of the most beautiful beaches and anchorages in the western hemisphere. Our first stop will be Allan’s Cay, a beautiful anchorage where you can practice up on your snorkeling and be thoroughly checked out on the various water toys that your charter yacht has aboard. A short dingy ride and you can feed the iguanas that inhabit this beautiful overnight stop, where the crew will treat you to a “Five Star Dinner”. Afterwards you can relax on the flybridge with your favorite beverage under a crystal-clear Bahamian sky, where it seems like every star in the heavens can be seen. We will then cruise on to Staniel Cay for more water sports, fishing, snorkeling, and a dive at the famous Thunderball Cave where the James Bond movie “Thunderball” was filmed; this is a spectacular dive you won’t want to miss. The area of Staniel Cay, Samson Cay, Pipe Creek, and Compass Cay are the jewels of the central Exumas. Yacht charter captain's recommend that you spend two or three days exploring the different anchorages, beaches and islands in this area. You will then start back up the Exuma Chain visiting the Cays that were missed on the way south, such as Shroud Cay, Compass Cay with its truly unforgettable beach on the Atlantic, Rocky Dundas with more cave diving, and Highborne Cay. Relaxing picnic lunches under a beach umbrella will make you forget about that long, cold winter back home. Upon your arrival back in Nassau, a night on the town, visiting the casinos on Paradise Island and Cable Beach, the Straw Market in downtown Nassau, and all of the sights the island of New Providence has to offer, is a wonderful end to your Vacation of a lifetime. |
